Executive Vice President – Full Time

Birmingham, AL

 

 

The Executive Vice President will be a part of the senior leadership team and play a strategic role in AEB’s aggressive future growth plan. This position is responsible for assisting AEB Senior Staff with developing AEB services, enhancing culture, and improving operations while maintaining AEB’s mission, vision and values. This individual must think strategically for AEB’s advancement and growth—focusing on staff development, listening to employee input, empowering individuals, assisting staff, and adjusting overall strategy to best serve the team. This individual needs to have strong business experience and acumen, with a natural aptitude for communicating with a variety of stakeholders both internally and externally to the organization. This position will report directly to the CEO and responsibilities may include executive strategy meetings, enhancing clinical and administrative processes, and assisting senior staff with day to day operations.

 

POSITION KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Implement and continue to promote AEB’s mission, values and vision
  • Provide excellent customer service through effective communication and follow up with staff, accounts, surgeons, partners and coalitions
  • Serve as general spokesman for AEB as needed
  • Develop effective lines of communication across department
  • Assist communicating company goals and benchmarks to staff, accounts, coalitions and AEB Board of Trustees
  • Serve and delegate in a manner promoting teamwork and applies principles of conflict resolution and affirmation for employees under his/her authority
  • Provide transparent and accountable communication to staff
  • Set goals and evaluate results to ensure departmental and organizational objectives are met and are in line with needs and mission of AEB
  • Provide pertinent information to AEB Board of Trustees and Committees as needed
  • Assist senior staff in identifying and developing operational efficiencies for both administration and clinical
  • Identify situations affecting employee morale and productivity
  • Analyze and interpret financial reports as needed
  • Ensure each department maintains goals and progress on projects
  • Implement process improvement plans in a timely manner and ensure completion and effectiveness
  • Assist senior staff with day-to-day operations as needed

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • MBA preferred but not required
  • 10+ years of work experience
  • Background in health care administration is a plus
  • Strong track record in leading and managing people
  • Servant-leadership—passion for empowering people and strengthening culture
  • Compassionate and empathetic listener
  • Ability to resolve conflict and hold employees accountable
  • Strategic thinker with strong time-management skills
  • Strong verbal and written communicator

Recovery Technician – Part Time

Montgomery, AL

Immediate opening for a rewarding job that can help make a difference in the lives of others. This critical role ensures the surgical recovery of safe and viable eye tissue to be used in transplant, research and education.

 

Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

  • Surgical recovery of transplant and research donor tissue
  • Review of donor medical charts
  • Package and ship eye tissue
  • Perform minimal laboratory duties as necessary

 

Qualifications of the position include, but are not limited to:

  • Prior medical experience or life sciences education, preferred
  • Ability to interface with peers and hospital personnel
  • Position will include some paid on call holidays, weekends and nights
  • Valid driver’s license

Alabama Donor Services Referral Coordinator – Full Time – Day and Night Shifts Available

Birmingham, AL

Alabama Donor Services provides call center services for the Alabama Eye Bank and the Alabama Organ Center.

 

Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

  • Answer, respond to and document all incoming donor referral calls in a timely manner
  • Triage referral calls as appropriate for organ, tissue and eye potential
  • Coordinate logistics of donation recovery with internal and external contacts

 

The successful candidate will be a highly motivated professional with these qualifications:

  • RN or BS, preferred
  • Minimum of at least 1 year of call center experience, preferred
  • Ability to interface with peers and hospital personnel on assignments
  • Excellent telephone, communication, and customer service skills
  • Basic knowledge of pharmacology / medical terminology
  • Basic knowledge of patient confidentiality laws
